Chester W. Shiver, 66, of Buena Vista, GA, formerly of Perry, FL, died Sunday 
May 8, 2011, at VistaCare at Franciscan Woods in Columbus, GA.

Funeral Services were held on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at 2:30 PM at New 
Providence Baptist Church with Reverend David Chapman officiating. Music was 
provided by Curt Pollack, Roger Sinyard and Sherrie McAllister. Burial 
followed in the church cemetery. The family received friends at the church 
from 1:00 pm until funeral time. Serving as active pallbearers were Roger 
Sinyard, Robbie McCorkle, Bruce Baxter, Larry Dillard, E. D. Hart, Tommy 
McAllister, Curt Pollack and Danny Olive.

Mr. Shiver was born March 11, 1945, in Mayo, Florida, to Williard and Lucille 
Nichols Shiver. He was Baptist by faith and was a member of New Providence 
Baptist Church. He was a member of the Army Reserves and he was a Mason. He 
had been employed as a pipe fitter with United Pipe Fitters Local 592. He was 
preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Carrie and Steve Young of Buena 
Vista, GA; by three brothers, Ted and Pauline Shiver of Perry, FL, Buddy and 
Gloria Shiver of Vidalia, GA, and David and Betty Shiver of Clearwater, FL; by 
a sister, Rhonda and Buddy Aderholt of Brandford, FL; by two grandchildren, 
Callie and Cassie. Several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

Watson-Tante Funeral Home of Buena Vista, Georgia, was in charge of the
