W. Slaughter died at his home at Fort McPherson, near Atlanta, Tuesday and his remains were brought to Buena Vista and laid to rest in the Methodist cemetery Wednesday afternoon. Mr. Slaughter lived in this county, near Pineville, many years where he was engaged in agricultural pursuits. Five or six years ago he moved to Austell, and from there he went to Fort McPherson, where he resided at his death. A few year ago he married Miss Emmie Merritt, daughter of the late Rev. W. B. Merritt, of this county, who with one child survive him. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. D.F. Riley assisted by Rev. Pope, brother-in-law of the deceased.
