1930-2018
Arline "Memaw" Smith of Auburn was born to the late Oscar and Hannah Johnson 
on July 7, 1930. She was 87 years old at the time of her death.
Arline was a loving wife, mother, memaw, and great-memaw, and a friend to all.
Arline was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Arthur Smith, as well 
as a sister, Helen Heller; a brother, Vern Johnson; a son-in-law, Gregory 
Pentecost; and other family members.
Arline is survived by her children: Aaron Smith of Auburn, Dessa Pentecost of 
Hoover, Arthur Smith Jr. of Auburn, John Smith of Auburn, and Margaret Schmear 
of Hoover, as well as grandchildren, Christopher Smith, Tyler (Emily) 
Pentecost, Arline (Patrick) Brown and their children, and many other family 
members.
A private graveside service was held for Arline's immediate family on June 7, 
2018, at New Life Freewill Baptist Church in Box Springs, Georgia.
