Stevens Passes Away Mr. Hurt Stevens, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. P.S. Stevens, of Putnam, died at his father’s home on Jan. 6th. His remains were interred at the community burial ground at Putnam on Jan. 7th. The funeral exercises were conducted by Rev. Norton, of Ellaville, assisted by Rev. Hugh F. Oliver, of Buena Vista. Mr. Stevens was one of the most popular men in the county. Everyone who knew him liked him. His funeral was attended by a vast concourse of people. The Patriot extends its condolences to the parents and relatives of the deceased in their hour of sorrow. Stevens, of Putnam, after suffering several months with a complication of maladies, died last Thursday night. He is survived by his father and mother, four brothers and two sisters. His remains were laid to rest in the family cemetery at Putnam on Friday.
