Graveside services will be held at 4:00PM on Saturday, April 3, 2021, at Johnson Cemetery. Family and friends may visit with Mrs. Stubbs at Way-Watson Funeral Home in Buena Vista on Friday, April 2, 2021, from 9:00AM- 5:00PM or an hour prior to service time on Saturday at the cemetery and at other times at the home of Lenard Stubbs, Jr., 2719 Ga Hwy 127, Mauk, GA. Serving as pallbearers will be Brock Stubbs, Matt Lane, Cody Ellis, Ben Welch, Seth Williams, Athon Hines, and Andrew James. Due to Covid-19, face coverings are strongly encouraged and please practice social distancing. Mrs. Stubbs was born May 28, 1942, in Buena Vista, GA, to William Murray and Lucile Dabbs Welch. She attended Springhill Freewill Baptist Church. She worked for Manhattan Shirt Factory before her retirement. Mrs. Stubbs was an avid Atlanta Braves and Georgia Bulldogs fan and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lenard Stubbs, her children, Eddie Stubbs, Judy Williams, a great-grandchild, Jakob Stubbs, five brothers and one sister. She is survived by her children, Roland Stubbs (Deborah) of Oglethorpe, GA, Angie Ellis (Marc) of Ellaville, GA, Juanita Lane (Heath Williams) of Fortson, GA, Peggy Golden (Clayton Moore) of Box Springs, GA, Jennifer Moschella (Steve) of Box Springs, GA, and Lenard Stubbs, Jr. (Robin) of Mauk, GA; a brother, Charles Welch of Buena Vista, GA; two sisters, Betty Edgington (Dwight) of Xenia, IL, and Frances Daniel of Mauk, GA; 21 grandchildren; and her special friend and sister-in-law, Dolly Welch. Numerous great-grandchildren, niece, nephews, and other family also survive. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
