A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, April 18, 2019, at Buena Vista First Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Hess and Rev. Harold Grimsley officiating. The family will greet friends after the service in the Fellowship Hall at the church. A private burial will be held at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. Mrs. Stuckey was born in Columbus, GA, on May 18, 1934, to Jerry Glen Miller and Louise Brookins Watson. She retired from Ft. Benning where she worked for civil service as a student advisor and finance analyst. Baptist by faith, she was a member of Buena Vista First Baptist Church where she played the piano for the last 10 years. An avid music lover, she had been involved with music since childhood, having played the piano since the age of eight. Mrs. Stuckey loved flowers and gardening and had traveled with her husband often through the years due to his military service. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Harrison Stuckey, and her long time special friend, Raymond Alfred Goolsby. She is survived by three children, Jerry G. Champion and his wife Elizabeth of Aurora, IL, Janet Ammons and her husband Clayton and Dawn Welch and her husband Kim, all of Buena Vista, GA; five grandchildren, Patrick Davis (Marina), Hunter Champion (Tabitha), Bryan Champion (Jennifer), Brandon Welch, and Jacob Welch (Courtney); and by eight great-grandchildren, Lukas Champion, Bradley Champion, Georgia Welch, Lucy Welch, Dylan Davis, Ryan Davis, Flynn Davis and Tyson Davis.
