SWANSON, ROOSEVELT
Mr. Swanson was born October 15, 1905 in Bullock County, Union Springs, AL, 
son of Charlie and Pearl Swanson.  He wed Miss Rosie Taylor September 12, 1936 
and they had 12 children.  Mr. Swanson died Sunday Morning, March 28, 1982 at 
the Montezuma Nursing Home in Montezuma, GA after an extended illness.  
Funeral services were held at 1:00, Saturday, April 3, 1982 at Brown Chapel 
A.M.E. Church in Buena Vista, Marion County, GA.  Reverend Isaac Archibald 
officiated. Burial in Pineville Cemetery, in Buena Vista, GA.
Survivors include his wife and children: Leroy (Irene Reese) Taylor of 
Ellaville, GA, Mrs. Rosie Lee S (James Edward) Terry and  Mrs. Eva Mae S 
Harvey of West Palm Beach, FL, Mr. Roosevelt Jr. Swanson of Evergreen, LA,  
Mr. Charlie (Camilla) Swanson of Fort Lauderdale, FL,  Ms Annie Swanson, Mr. 
David Lee (Luther Mae Rogers) Swanson of Ellaville, GA, Ms Minnie Pearl 
Swanson and Ms Sylvia Swanson, both of Ellaville, GA,  Mrs. Betty Lee S (Bobby 
Lee) Sampson of Atlanta, GA, Mrs. Bessie Rosa S (Willie Lewis) Gorman of 
Willacoochee, GA, and Mrs. Mary Julia S (Robert Lee Sr.) Terry of Tazewell, 
GA.  Grandson, Carey Swanson of Americus, GA.  A sister: Savannah Jackson of 
Long Beach, NY.  2 sisters-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Mandy Hilder of Columbus, GA and 
Mr. & Mrs Buddah and Addie Boynton of Chicago, IL.  40 grandchildren, 20 great 
grandchildren.
