THOMAS, CHARLIE EMMETT Sr.
Mr. Thomas was born October 30, 1915 in Marion County, GA, son of William and 
Estelle Brown Thomas. He was a member of Mt Zion A.M.E. Church.  He married 
Elizabeth Jones and they had 7 children.  Mr. Thomas died July 13, 1977.  
Funeral services were held at 4:00, Sunday, July 17, 1977 at Mt Zion A.M.E. 
Church in Buena Vista, GA.  Reverend Jack Crumbley officiated; Burial in 
Hopewell cemetery. He is survived by his wife and children:  Charlie Emmett 
Thomas, Jr. of Columbus, GA, Mr. Edward Thomas, Mrs. Mary A Johnson of 
Decatur, GA, Mr. Matthew Thomas and Mr. Leon Thomas of Atlanta, GA, Mr. 
Douglas McArthur Thomas of Buena Vista, GA and Mrs. Mary Thelma Coley of 
Boynton Beach, FL; 8 grandchildren, 4 daughters-in-law, a son-in-law, 3 aunts, 
1 uncle, 5 sisters, Mrs. Mary Mack of Miami, FL, Mrs. Ada K Hardnett of 
Hartford, CT, Mrs. Ruth Butler and Mrs. Kathy M Baker of Atlanta, GA, Mrs. 
Eula M Sampson of Buena Vista, GA, 2 brothers, James and George Thomas of 
Buena Vista, GA, nieces, nephews and cousins.
