Trudy Thompkins

Mrs. Trudy Waters Thompkins, 57, of Buena Vista, GA, passed away on Wednesday, 
February 2, 2022, at Phoebe-Sumter Medical Center.  Graveside services will be 
held at Parmer Cemetery on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 2:00 PM.  The family 
will greet friends on Friday, February 11, 2022 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Way-
Watson Funeral Home in Buena Vista.

Mrs. Thompkins was born in Columbus, GA, on July 24, 1964, to Aubry “Butch” and 
Mary Ellen Duncan Waters.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren, Tatum 
and Jaxon, as well as family and friends. Mrs. Thompkins enjoyed reading 
mysteries and loved the beach. She is preceded in death by her father, Aubry 
“Butch” Waters and an aunt, Mary Alice Waters.

She is survived by her husband, David Ralph Thompkins of Buena Vista, GA; by her 
mother, Ellen Waters; by her three children, Tabatha T. Houston (Jason), Joshua 
Thompkins, and Casey Thompkins; by her siblings, Roland Waters (Donnita), Martha 
Gaydosh (Matt), and Ronald Waters; by two grandchildren, Tatum Houston and Jaxon 
Houston; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Mary Nell Lewis, Billy Thompkins, Paul 
Thompkins, and Margaret Tondee; her special friends, Tricia Ammons, Judy Liles, 
and Penny Cook. Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins also 
survive.

Way-Watson Funeral Home, 1052 Dr. Deryl Hart Road, Buena Vista, Georgia has been 
entrusted with these arrangements.
