"Bud" J.C. "Bud" Tyler Sr. July 7, 1937- January 17, 2007 MAUK, GA— J.C. "Bud" Tyler Sr., age 69, of the Oakland Community died Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at his residence. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 20, 2007 11 a.m. at Spring Hill Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Sidney Jones, Rev. A.R. Curlee and Rev. Brian Fuller officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. Mr. Tyler was born July 7, 1937 in Marion County, the son of the late Cecil and Lee Ella Tyler. He had lived in Marion County and Columbus all of his life and was a member of Spring Hill Freewill Baptist Church. He was former owner of Oakland IGA Grocery Store, Oakland Hardware & Restaurant, Pawn Shop, Tyler Trucking, Valley Store Equipment, AAA Ambulance Service and had owned several service stations. He had served as Muscogee County Deputy Sheriff and worked with the Columbus Police Department, was a farmer and contractor. Survivors include his wife Sandy Tyler of Oakland; John Tyler Jr. and wife Wanda of Richland, GA., Allen Tyler and Linda of Phenix City, AL., Rus Tyler, Jeff Tyler and Carolyn, Little Allen Killough Tyler, all of Oakland; grandchildren, Gabby Tyler, Sara Tyler and A.J. Tyler. Mr. Tyler was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Pauline Warner. Tante Funeral Home of Buena Vista, Georgia is in charge of arrangements with Dennis Howard, John McClain, Bobby Beall, Clide Grier, Emmett Bentley, Renny Earles, James Steen and Wayne Frazier serving as pallbearers.
