Valentine,age 83 of Box Springs,Georgia died Thursday,May 5,2005 at his resdience. Funeral services were held Saturday, May 7,2005 at New Providence Baptist Church with burial in Church Cemetery. Mr. Valentine was born December 12, 1921 in Long Island, NY the son of William Edward and Ella Kissam Valentine.He lived in Box Springs for 17 years and was a Vetern of WW11. Survivors include his wife-Minnie Davis Valentine of Box Springs,Ga.; daughters: Carol Philips of Spring, Texas; Joan Bass Valentine of Woodville, Texas; Step son: Jerry Satterwhite of Columbus, Ga.; brother Ed Valentine of Bristol, Vermont, Five grandchildren and one great grandchild, several nieces and nephews. He was preceeded in death by a son,Joel Valentine. Tante Funeral Home of Buena Vista Ga was in charge of arrangements. Wade Jordan,Corey Jordan,Brandon Jordan,Clint Davis,Vince Davis,Cliff Hughes, Faron Gosness and Durwood Anthony as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Glenn Icard, S. H. McCorkle, Tommy McAllister,Bruce Baxter, Roger Sinyard, Steve Young,Curt Pollock, Mack Williams, Ferrell Cook and Robbie McCorkle.
