He had been afflicted for a long time with paralysis in his lower limbs, which almost deprived him of the use of those members. This caused a wasting away of his feet, and it was only a short time ago since he was confined to his bed, that his attending physicians found it necessary to amputate one of his toes. It is thought by the physicians that the decaying of his feet produced septicemia from which he died. Judge Webb was in his fifty-sixth year, and came to Buena Vista in 1850. He was an honored and upright citizen, noted for his truthfulness and integrity both in business transactions and social relations in life. He was not blessed with any children, and his widow is his only survivor, with whom the entire community sympathize in her loneliness and solitude. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Bascom Sentell at the Methodist church Monday morning at 9 o’clock, after which all that was mortal of Judge Webb was laid away to rest in the Methodist cemetery.
