Whitman which took place half past one o’clock Monday morning at her daughters Mrs. Lizzie Sherman, caused from measles and other trouble. Mrs. Whitman had been in feeble health for many years and at times suffered untold misery with patience and resignation. She was a consistent member of the Methodist church at Philadelphia, she loved her church with a devotion excelled by none, attended Sabbath school, prayer meeting and was always ready to assist in missionary causes. She was a good neighbor, kind to the sick, a devoted wife and indulgent mother. She leaves a husband and three children to mourn her death. The Marion County Patriot, No. 9 February 27, 1903 Page Four Pineville and Zelobe Mrs. Whitman, a most estimable lady of truly Christian character, was laid to rest in the cemetery at Pineville last Monday.
