Virgil Leon Ward, 77, of Mauk, died on Sunday, January 30, 2011, at his 
residence.

Mr. Ward was born October 3, 1933, in Goodwater, Alabama to Virgil Alexander 
and Rosie Nellie Jones Ward. He was a welder and had been living in the area 
since 1969. He was of the Church of God faith.

He is survived by two sons, Virgil Leon Ward, Jr. of Mauk, GA and Bobby Wayne 
Ward of Phenix City, AL; by two daughters, Deborah Chilsion Dubose of 
Columbia, AL and Barbara Christina Heavlow of Mauk, GA; by three sisters, 
Sandra Stamm of Mauk, GA, Dot Soringo of Chicago, IL, and Linda Jones of 
Phenix City, AL. 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren also survive.

Tante Funeral Home of Buena Vista, Georgia, was in charge of arrangements.
