Mary Alice Waters
September 3, 1929 ~ February 16, 2017 (age 87)

Mrs. Mary Alice "Mei" McCall Waters, 87, of Buena Vista, GA, died on Thursday, 
February 16, 2017, at Magnolia Manor of Marion County in Buena Vista, GA.

Graveside services will be held on Sunday, February 19, 2017, at 3:00pm at 
Trinity Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Taylor County with Rev. Luke Forsyth 
officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be John Waters, Jr., Jeremy Foxworth, 
Ronald Grantham, Timothy Grantham, Dylan Johnson, Mike Johnson and Casey 
Thompkins. The family will receive friends at Watson-Tante Funeral Home on 
Saturday, February 18, 2017, from 6:00-8:00pm.

Mrs. Waters was born September 3, 1929, in Phenix City, AL, to Allen Sanders and 
Mary Ela Lee McCall.  She attended the Church of Latter Day Saints. Mrs. Waters 
enjoyed sewing, making cakes and pies and working in the yard. In addition to 
her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Robert Daniel 
Waters, a brother, Johnny “Buddy” McCall, a sister, Dalice Duncan, a 
granddaughter, Brandy Marie Foxworth and a great-aunt that was like a mother to 
her, Laura Lee.

She is survived by a son, John Robert Waters, Sr. and his wife Vicky of Buena 
Vista, GA;  a daughter, Barbara Marie Coe of Columbus GA;  five grandchildren, 
John Robert Waters, Jr., Ronald Keith Grantham, Lisa Faye McCormick, Timothy 
Paul Grantham and Jeremy Wayne Foxworth; 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great-
great grandchildren.  A sister-in-law, Bernice McCall of Buena Vista, GA, and 
several nieces and nephews also survive.

Watson-Tante Funeral Home of Buena Vista, GA, is in charge of the arrangements.
