Louise “Speedball” Brookins Miller Watson, 94, of Buena Vista, GA, died 
Thursday, January 15, 2009, at Magnolia Manor of Marion County.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 17, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. in the 
Chapel of Tante Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Hess and Rev. Mark Chandler 
officiating. Interment will follow at Park Hill Cemetery in Columbus. The 
family will receive friends at Tante Funeral Home in Buena Vista on Friday 
evening from 6 to 7 p.m.

Mrs. Watson was born February 12, 1914, to J.R. and Gypsy Purvis Brookins in 
Malvern, AL. She was baptist by faith and was a member of Hilton Terrace 
Baptist Church.  Coming to Buena Vista about 10 years ago, she had lived in 
Columbus most of her life and was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she 
was preceded in death by two husbands, Jerry G. Miller and Paul Watson, by a 
brother, Louie Brookins, and by two sisters, Nellie Burgess and Inez Smith.

She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Miller Stuckey of Buena Vista; a 
brother, R. J. Brookins, of Columbus, GA; by a sister, Mildred Jackson, of 
Phenix City, AL; by three grandchildren, Dawn and Kim Welch and Jan and 
Clayton Ammons all of Buena Vista, and by Jerry and Elizabeth Champion, of 
Aurora, IL; five great-grandchildren, Patrick and Yuki Davis of CO, Hunter 
Champion of VA, Bryan Champion of Columbus, Brandon Welch of Buena Vista, and 
Jacob Welch of NY. She is also survived by two great-great granchildren, Ryan 
Davis and Dylan Davis of Columbus.

County Auxillary, 349 Geneva Road, Buena Vista, GA, 31803. Tante Funeral Home 
of Buena Vista, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
