Graveside services were held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Cusseta with Reverend Clyde Grimsley and Michael Webb officiating. The family received friends at Tante Funeral Home Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. Born to Gary Wesley and Martha Harris Webb on February 25, 1940 in Chattahoochee County, Mr. Webb was raised in Cusseta. He was of the Methodist faith and was a member of Cusseta United Methodist Church. He was a civil engineer employed in Civil Service at Ft. Benning, GA, as Chief of Engineering. He was also a self-employed land surveyor. Mr. Webb was a former member of the Rotary Club and the Columbus Toastmasters Club. In his lifetime, he helped many young men obtain their engineering licenses. He was a giving and loving brother, husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Gary Wesley Webb, Jr. and Philip Harris Webb of Buena Vista, GA. Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Sarah Webb of Columbus, GA; a daughter, Cindy Ann Whitehurst of Cusseta; three brothers, Michael and Becky Webb of Cusseta, William and Bonnie Webb of Smyrna, GA, and his twin, Robert Webb and wife Barbara of Columbus; by three sisters, Evelyn Wright and Linda Webb St. John both of Cusseta, and Anne and Harold Murphy of Lakeland, FL. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Lauren Whitehurst and Starr Whitehurst. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Tante Funeral Home of Buena Vista was in charge of arrangements.
