A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, August 4, 2022, at Union United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Joy Wilson officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Ricky Singleton, Ken Singleton, Lucas Singleton, Beau Singleton, Ben Singleton, and Ray Rustin. Although the family will not be in attendance, friends may visit with Mrs. Welch at Way-Watson Funeral Home in Buena Vista during a from 11:00AM – 7:00PM on Wednesday, August 3, 2022. Condolences may be offered to the family after the service on Thursday. Mrs. Welch was born in Savannah, GA, on September 4, 1951, to Martha Roberts Crenshaw. A member of Union United Methodist Church, she loved God’s word and reading. A pivotal part of Wells & Welch Department Store, she worked there alongside her husband, Mickey since 1971. Mrs. Welch lived a very active lifestyle. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, hiking, and golfing. She never met a stranger and loved to cook. You could always depend on her. She was preceded in death by her mother and by two brothers, Tim Crenshaw and Darrell Crenshaw. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Mickey Welch; by three daughters and sons-in-law, April and Brian Moon, Misty and Howard Tibbitt, and Mikki and Burt Guest; by two brothers, Billy Crenshaw and Kenneth and Susan Crenshaw; three sisters, Bonnie and Rick Blackston, Lisa and David Storey, and Donna and Buck Layfield; by brother and sister-in-law, Kim and Dawn Welch; and by five grandchildren, Julianne Moon, Olivia Tibbitt, Lilly Tibbitt, David Guest, and Mack Guest. Numerous nieces and nephews and her two beloved pets, Buddy and Lilly Belle also survive.
