Obituary
Mr. James Ralph Whaley, Jr., 62, of Mauk, GA, passed away on Tuesday, July 13, 
2021, at his residence. 

Mr. Whaley was born in Chicago, IL, on August 9, 1958, to James Ralph Whaley, 
Sr. and Mary Joan Szarek Whaley.  He was a veteran of the United States Army. 
Mr. Whaley was self-employed as a carpenter. In addition to his parents, he was 
preceded in death by a brother, Paul H. Whaley.

He is survived by his three children, Justin and Jordan Whaley of Salem, AL, 
Brittany and Thomas Davis of Phenix City, AL, and Tyler and Emily Whaley of 
Phenix City, AL; by three siblings, Thomas W. and Stephanie Whaley, Sr. of 
Germantown, NC, Mary E. Whaley Sweeney of Butler, GA, and Deborah W. and Greg 
Grobarcik of Westmont, IL; six grandchildren, Ethan Whaley, Elliott Whaley, 
Everett Whaley, Charlie Davis, Jackson Davis, and Raegan Whaley. Numerous nieces 
and nephews also survive.

Way-Watson Funeral Home, 1052 Dr. Deryl Hart Road, Buena Vista, Georgia has been 
entrusted with these arrangements.
