"Donnie" Whitley October 4, 1948 — August 13, 2022 Donald L. "Donnie" Whitley Mr. Donald L. “Donnie” Whitley, Sr., 73, of Mauk, GA, passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at Columbus Hospice in Columbus, GA. Graveside services will be held at 10:00AM on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at Rose Lane Cemetery, 155 Rose Lane, Box Springs, GA with Rev. Dallas Short officiating. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Monday, August 15, 2022, from 6:00-8:00PM. Mr. Whitley was born October 4, 1948, in Columbus, GA, to Edward and Burdella Supan Whitley. He retired from Local Union 52 as a pipe fitter. Mr. Whitley loved fishing and hunting. He enjoyed working on anything mechanical and was always tinkering. Mr. Whitley loved spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ronda P. Whitley, by a brother, Ray Whitley and a sister Vickie Masi. He is survived by two sons, Donald Whitley, Jr. (Beth) Lynn Haven, FL, and Freddie Whitley, of Columbus, GA; by a daughter, Angela Cagle of Preston, GA; by his brothers, James Terry Whitley of Fortson, GA, and Gary Whitley (Angela) of Buena Vista, GA; by four sisters, Linda Honeycutt (Sam) of Jacksonville, FL, Brenda Sizemore (Johnny) of Phenix City, AL, Karen Pizarro (Nelson) of Columbus, GA, and Regina Torbett (Mark) of Phenix City, AL; by a brother-in-law, Vince Masi of Columbus, GA; six grandchildren, Austin Cagle, Ashton Cagle, Aaron Cagle, Dakota Mills, Brooke Mills, and Ciara Letlow; and three great- grandchildren, Hazel Cagle, Autumn Cagle, and Amelia Cagle. Also surviving are a special daughter, Jo Anne Montgomery and special grandson, Gabriel Wilson as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
