Johnson, daughter of Rev. LeRoy Hirshburg and wife, to Dr. W.A. Drane on June 17th, was given out last Sunday. The Marion County Patriot, No. 24 Friday, June 19, 1908 Page One Johnson – Drane A quiet home wedding took place at the beautiful home of Rev. LeRoy Hirshburg and wife on Wednesday, June 17th. The contracting parties were Mrs. Ada May Johnson, the daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Hirshburg, and Dr. W.A. Drane. The home was beautifully decorated with flowers and foliage and a particular lovely feature was the veranda on which the ceremony was to have taken place at 8 o’clock. The lawn in front of the home was a scene of beauty also. A storm coming up about 7 o’clock disarranged the whole plan and continued with much severity until between 9 and 10 o’clock when it broke away and the guests began to arrive. The ceremony was performed by Rev. LeRoy Hirshburg, the father of the bride, who with Mrs. Hirshburg stood in the parlor back from the door surrounded by the relatives, waiting the coming of the happy couple while Miss Ruth Smith played the wedding march. The bride is a beautiful attractive woman, and this night looked her best decked in a snowy gown of taffeta, by the side of the handsome bridegroom. Dr. Drane is a highly estimable gentleman and is one of the leading physicians and surgeons of Marion County, who has an extensive practice and is loved by all who know him. After the ceremony and congratulations, ice cream, cake and fruits were served, and it was a late hour when the guests retired. The happy couple have the best wishes of everyone.
