W.J. Short, Mr. Homer Avant and Miss Emma Fussell. After the ceremony the bridal party and their friends attended services at Brantley, and returned to the home of the bride’s father where an elegant dinner was served. In the afternoon the party repaired to the home of Mr. B.T. Peacock, which by the way, is the home of Mr. Avant, where they were tendered a sumptuous 6 o’clock lunch. We extend to Homer and his bride our sincerest good wishes and trust their prosperity and happiness will run as smooth as the deep, still waters without so much as a ripple to disturb them. The Marion County Patriot, No. 20 May 17, 1889 Page Three Brantley Items There was an unusual attendance at Brantley church Sunday. Among the number were Mr. Homer Avant and Miss Emma Fussell, who were happily married a few hours previous. We had an impressive sermon from the Rev. C.H. Branch on the occasion.
