The Marion County Patriot, No. 50 December 20, 1889 Page Two Cherokee Floatings Mr. Lee Helms and Miss Freedonia Thaggard were joined in the holy bonds of matrimony last Sunday evening, at the home of the bride, J.A. Griffin officiating. Lee is one of Glenalta’s thorough going farmers and the bride is one of Poplar Springs’ highly accomplished young ladies. Additional Comments: Transcriber note: The name of the bride is different in both articles and since I'm not a researcher of this family I am uncertain which is correct. It is possible that Freedonia was the bride's nickname or the author didn't know how to spell her name correctly.
