Short. The ceremony was performed by Rev. D.F. Riley, pastor of the Methodist church. The wedding was quiet, only a few of the relatives and friends of the contracting parties being present, and the bride and groom left immediately on the ten o’clock train for their future home at Hot Springs, Ark. Dr. Short was raised at Brantley in this county, but for the past several years has been practicing his profession of specialist of eye, ear, nose and throat at Hot Springs, and has gained some prominence in his profession. Miss Mattie was one of the social favorites of Buena Vista and was very much admired by all her acquaintances. After the ceremony and congratulations a number of friends accompanied the bridal party to the depot to bid them bon voyage. The Patriot wishes the doctor and his fair bride much happiness in their western home.
