The ceremony was performed by Rev. C.H. Hyde in the spacious hall at the Reese House, which was attractively decorated with beautiful palms and hangings of smilax. The couple came up the hall to the strains of Mendelsohn’s “Wedding March” performed by Miss Lila H. Edwards. During the ceremony she played softly the sweet air, “I Love You Dear,” by Ferber. On account of the popularity of both Mrs. McCorkle and Mr. Jackson, this marriage has been of unusual interest to all. Mrs. McCorkle will be greatly missed in Buena Vista. She is beloved by young and old alike, possessing a genuinely sweet nature and a graciousness and cordiality of manner that is very attractive. She has ever been ready to turn aside from the social pleasures of life to respond to any call from charity, lending her time and talent with a willingness that betokens an interest in all good works. Mr. Jackson formerly lived here, but is now in business at Columbus. He is a man of sterling qualities, endowed with that fine courtesy and high sense of honor that are characteristic of the true southern gentleman. The bride wore a handsome traveling suit of blue cloth. They left on the afternoon train for Columbus. Quite a number of friends and relatives of the groom came down from Columbus.
