The Marion County Patriot, No. 47 December 4, 1903 Page One Taylor – Jennings A wedding of much interest, because of the social prominence of the contracting parties, was witnessed at the Baptist church Thursday evening of last week at 7:30 o’clock, when Miss Agnes Clifford Taylor of this city, and Mr. Robert Linwood Jennings were united in marriage. The church was beautifully decorated with potted plants and cut flowers and was literally packed with friends of the bride and groom. After a short prayer meeting service, the beautiful strains of a wedding march as rendered by Miss Carrie Jennings, of Plains, filled the church and the expectant friends knew that the beginning of the old, though ever interesting ceremony was at hand. First came the ushers, Messrs. Eugene Harvey and Wm. Lowe, who were followed by the attendants Miss Lucie Jennings with Mr. Jack Slappey, Miss Florence Smith with Mr. Clinton Tinerman, of the Plains, Miss Tommie Passmore, of Weston, with Mr. Joe Hair, Miss Ruth Taylor with Mr. Ralph Wise, of Plains. The bride and groom came next and took their position under a beautiful canopy of flowers and faced Rev. R.B. Taylor, who with a short and beautifully impressive ceremony united them for life. From the church the bridal party with a number of friends repaired to the home of Mr. Taylor, where congratulations were received and later an elegant and elaborate supper was served. Few girls have ever lived in Buena Vista who were more generally admired than Miss Taylor, and she will be greatly missed by a large circle of friends. The groom is a prosperous young businessman of Plains. In addition to the parties mentioned above the following were among the visitors who attended the marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Jennings, parents of the groom, Miss E.C. Cawdrey, of Columbus and Mr. Clarence Taylor, of Mercer University File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ga/marion/vitals/marriages/mr1972taylor.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.poppet.org/gafiles/ File size: 3.2 Kb
