The ceremony was solemnized by Rev. R.B. Taylor, at the home of Mr. Isaac Harvey, the father of the bride, in the presence of a large number of admiring friends. Promptly at the hour named, the bride beautifully gowned in rich crepe de chine and real lace and carrying a shower bouquet of white carnations, came into the parlor on the arm of the groom, took their station and in an impressive ceremony they were united for life. When the ceremony was complete Mr. and Mrs. Stevens received the congratulations of the large number of friends who were present and all were invited to the dining room where an elegant luncheon of salads was served. Monday afternoon the bridal party came to Buena Vista and in the evening, beginning at 8 o’clock a reception was given them by Mr. H. Stevens, the groom’s father. The guests were received by Mrs. J.W. Roberts, Mr. and Mrs. Baker Stevens, Miss Verna Harpe, Miss Florence Smith, Dr. and Mrs. Weaver and Mrs. Munro. At 10 o’clock an elegant supper in three courses was served. The table was decorated in white silk ribbon and cut flowers, and with the gleam of silver, and beautiful cut glass presented a very elegant appearance. The bride wore a costume of blue silk with white oversuit and was never more beautiful than on this occasion. The presents received were numerous and many of them costly, they represent a value of several hundred dollars, and attest the popularity of this happy couple. Mrs. Stevens is the daughter of one of the best citizens of the county, and is very popular all over this section of the state, she is beautiful, cultured and a social leader among the young people of her home. Mr. Stevens is one of Buena Vista’s best merchants, and has already established a name for himself in commercial circles.
