A pretty home wedding was that of Mr. Hearst Spear, of Tazewell and Miss Donie 
Hendrick, of this community, which was solemnized on Dec. 25th, at the 
residence of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.J. Hendrick.  Quite a number 
of friends and relatives were present and the occasion was a most happy and 
interesting one.  The attendants were Miss Zettie Spear with Mr. Emory Phillips 
and Miss Martha Wood with Mr. Rufus Hendrick.  The ceremony was performed by 
Rev. Joe Short in his usual impressive manner.  The bride was lovely in a dress 
of grey wool with trimmings of white silk.  An enjoyable reception was given 
the newly married couple.  All join in wishing them a long and happy life.
