A Surprise Marriage

Mr. Cliff Brown went by the home of Mr. J.R. Tompkins last Monday evening when
he started to the Methodist church preaching, and Miss Blossie Tompkins
accompanied him.  Instead of going direct to the church they first went to the
Methodist parsonage, where the pastor, Rev. L.J. Ballard, performed the marriage
ceremony uniting them in the holy bonds of matrimony.  They then went on to
church.  Just why they chose that time, place and occasion for getting married
we do not know, since we have not heard of any objections.
