Evelyn Lafleur, 69, of Thomson, died Wednesday, October 4, 2006, in the 
McDuffie Regional Medical Center.

She was born in Westport, Mass., and was the daughter of the late Jose and 
Philomena Andrade Duarte. She lived in Thomson for many years and was a 
homemaker. Mrs. Lafleur was preceded in death by her husband, Rene Lafleur.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Brent Godbee, 
Thomson, and Carol and John Chick, Royston; a sister, Mary Martin, Clearwater, 
Fla.; two brothers, Albert Duarte, Mass., and Manuel Duarte, Pahrump, Nev.; 
six grandchildren, Jason Hill, Ashley Hill, Will Chick, Traci Minor, Joe Minor 
and Greg Minor, and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were held Sunday, October 8, in the Savannah Valley 
Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Michael Timmerman officiating.

Curtis Funeral Home, Thomson, was in charge of arrangements.
