The deceased had, with exception of about the last six months of his life, been principally a residence of the place of his nativity-and from his unassuming conduct, and uniform deportment, gained the respect and esteem of all who were acquainted with him. To his immediate relatives and friends, the afflictive dispensation of Divine Providence will long be sensibly felt. Of him it can be justly said that humanity, charity, integrity and sincerity of character, were fully pourtrayed in his intercourse with his fellow men. Possessed of a mind highly cultivated, he bid fair to become a useful and valuable member among the strangers whom he had just mingled and settled with, but alas the unrelenting hand of death has deprived them of his service and taken him from our view, forever.
