At that time, Johnston Station was in McIntosh County, Georgia. In 1920 that portion of McIntosh County became waht is now Long County. The Johnston Station was a station on the Atlantic and Gulf Railroad, and its name was changed to Ludowici, GA in 1905, and is now the County Seat of Long County. The masons in the picture identified are: Standing Seventh from Left, Dr. David W. Baggs, MD the community doctor. Kneeling 2nd from the left, Harry G. Williams, Secretary; Kneeling, 3rd from left, Francis John Chapman, Treasurer; kneeling 5thfrom Left, James Madison Twiggs Smith, Junior Warden; Kneeling 6th from Left, Thomas Jefferson "Bud"Chapman (with hat) Worshipful Master:Kneeling 1st from Right, Thomas Edgar Houston (1859-1905), my Grandfather.
