Bell George Anthony Hall Bell was born in Gwinnett County georgia on February 12, 1831, but was raised in Meriwether County Georgia. He was the son of Thomas N and Sarah Boyd Bell. He was the brother of James Bell, Lucinda Bell Jourdan, Nancy Bell Kempson, Johnlee David Bell, Nathaniel Bell, and William Thomas Jefferson Bell. He married Sarah Frances Gable of Coweta County Georgia on December 30, 1858 in Meriwether County, Georgia. George and Sarah had one child, Nancy Elizabeth Bell, born on January 25, 1860. Georgia joined the War between the States on the Confederate side and served as did each of his brother's. He joined the War March 4, 1862 and enlisted as a private in company A, 41st Infantry Regiment but died in battle in Columbus Mississippi only a few months later on May 12, 1862. He is buried at the friendship Cemetery in Columbus, Mississippi. His tombstone has George A. Bell on it. After the death of George A. Bell, Sarah Frances Gable Bell found a wounded union soldier around Coweta County Georgia, a Mr. James Pious Greer, took him into her home, nursed him back to health and married him on May 20, 1866 in Coweta County, Georgia. Nancy Elizabeth Bell moved with her mother and stepfather to Meade County Kentucky. Nancy was raised in Meade Kentucky where she met and married William H. Hardin and they moved to Breckinridge County Kentucky where they lived and died.
