Harris County

This (inditement or intitlement)* Made this Made the [sic] 10th day of 
August In the year of our Lord one thousand Eight Hundred & thirty three 
wherein on the one part Isaac Johnson of Harris County and the state 
aforesaid & Richard Sloan of the same State & County of Meriwether of 
the other part witnesseth that the aforesaid Isaac Johnson for & in 
consideration of the sum of One hundred & fifty dollars to him in hand 
paid by the said Richard Sloan at & before the sealing & delivery of these 
presents the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged the aforesaid 
Isaac Johnson hath granted bargained & sold & so by these presents 
grant Bargain & sell unto the said Richard Slone a certain tract or Lot of 
land situate lying & being in the County of Meriwether Originally Troup 
County in Ninth District known as the lot No. (268) and deeded to Richard 
Slone of the afoursaid this the 10th of August Eighteen hundred & thirty 
three to gether with all & singular the Rights Members & appurtinancies in 
any wise Thereunto belonging & every part thereof to have & to hold the 
said lot of land with the appertinancies thereunto the Richard Slone his 
heirs & assigns to the proper benefit use & behoof of the said Richard 
Slone & the aforesaid Isaac Johnson the aforesaid lot of land & premises 
& every part theref unto the said Richard Slone against him the aforesaid 
IsaacJohnson his heirs Executors administrators an assigns & against 
all & every other person or persons whatsoever Shall (he?) warrant & 
forever defend the within title where of in testimony whereof the aforesaid 
Isaac Johnson hath hereunto set his hand & seal this x this day as first 
above written signed sealed & delivered & acknowledged In the presence

Additional Comments:
Land Lot 268 is in the northeastern corner of Meriwether County, and is 
bordered today by Sullivan Road on the north and Georgia Highway 362 
on the south. It is about two miles west of the Flint River and the Pike 
County line. .Adjacent and directly above Land Lot 268 (across Sullivan 
Road) is Land Lot 269 which was owned by Richard Sloan's father-in-law, 
Robert Boyd. Richard Sloan (name also seen as Slone) was married to 
Robert's daughter, Rosannah Boyd.
