Ector Clk Additional Comments: William Legwin of Newton County drew this land in the 1827 Land Lottery and sold it the same year to David Dickson, also of Newton County. This land is in west central Meriwether and takes in the west half of the town of Odessadale, according to a DOT map of Meriwether done by aerial survey in 1984-1987. It appears to be about 2-3 miles from the Troup County line. This deed was transcribed from a photocopy of the original deed in the office of the Superior Court, Greenville, Meriwether County, Georgia.
