LESTER, WADE –Atty, from HESTON, JAMES (deed looks more like Heaton; Land 
Lottery records also say Heaton), 202 1/2 acres in Land Lot 39 in the 10th 
District on 26 Sept. 1827. Filed and recorded 25 Sept. 1828. Number of acres not 
given in Grantee Index. Original deed reveals that James Heaton of “Decalb” 
County, Georgia gave Wade Lester, also of DeKalb County, authority to act as his 
attorney to claim the land he won in the 1827 Land Lottery. This lot is in 
northern Meriwether County and is a full land lot of 202 1/2 acres. According to 
Land Lottery records, James Heaton was a Revolutionary Soldier, living in 
Shippy’s (?) District of Gwinnett County when he drew this land, which was 
originally in Troup County.

District in January of 1831 (no specific date given in index). Filed and

LESTER, WADE from ADAMS, LEVI M. 136 acres more or less in Land Lot 112 of 
the 3rd District on 3 Dec. 1839. Filed and recorded 26 April 1841.
Wade Lester was administrator of the estate of William Davis who owned this 
land. Levi M. Adams was Clerk of Superior Court. Levi purchased the land from 
the estate and transferred it to Wade Lester. Witnessed by Alston Boyd and 
William Fuller.
