DEED OF RANSOM RAY TO JOSHUA HENDRICKS 1833

State of Georgia
Meriwether County

This indenture made this 22nd day of January in the year of our Lord one 
thousand eight hundred and thirty three between Ransom Ray of the County and 
State aforesaid of the one part and Joshua Hendricks of the County and State 
aforesaid of the other part.  Witnesseth that the said Ray for and in 
consideration of the sum of Fifty dollars to him in hand paid, at and before 
the sealing and delivering of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby 
acknowledged hath granted, bargained, sold conveyed and confirmed and by these 
presents doth grant, bargain, sell, convey and confirm unto him the said 
Hendricks his heirs executors and administrators a certain piece or parcel of 
land with all the Gold & minerals contained in the same lying and being in the 
Eleventh district of said County containing by survey Fifty acres known and 
distinguished by part of No. One hundred and and [sic] forty three in said 
district in the Southeast corner of said Lott [sic] together with all and 
singular the numbers rights, privileges and appurtenances, rents the said piece 
of Land belonging or in any wise appertaining.  To have and to hold the 
aforesaid Fifty acres of land will all and singular the numbers rights 
privileges and appurtenances thereunto belonging or appertaining unto the said 
Hendricks his heirs & assigns in fee simple to his own proper use and behoof 
forever, and the said Ransom Ray for himself his heirs executors and 
administrators doth warrant and defend the right and title of said Fifty acres 
of land unto the said Hendricks his heirs Exec. ^ Admin. the right & title & 
lawful claim of all persons whomsoever.  In testimony whereof I hereunto set my 
hand and seal the day and year above written.

Personally came Solomon Sanders and after being duly sworn deposeth and saith 
that Ransom Ray signed, sealed, and delivered the written deed to Joshua 
Hendricks & he also saw Alexander Stevenson and James Parham sign as a witness.
