Witnesseth that the said Ray for and in consideration of two hundred dollars to him in Hand paid by the said Crawly the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained sold conveyed and confirmed unto the said Crawly his heirs and assigns all that tract or parcel of Land it being the Northeast Corner of lot No. One forty three of the 11th District of formerly Troup now Meriwether containing fifty acres bounded by lot No. 114 on the north and 144 on the east to have and to hold the said land with all and singular the rights Numbers and appurtenances there of whatsoever to the said Crawly his heirs and assigns in fee simple a [can’t read] the said Ray his heirs and assigns will warrant and defend forever by virtue of these presents. In witness whereof the said Ray hath hereunto set his hand and seal this the twenty ninth of December Eighteen hundred & thirty seven. Bailey Georgia Meriwether County Personally came before me Abner Durham one of the Justices of the Peace for said County Toliver Baily [sic] who being duly sworn deposeth and saith that the same Ransom Ray sign seal and deliver the written deed to Turner Crawly to the purpose therein mentioned and that he subscribed the same as witness and saw Thomas Davis do so likewise sworn and subscribed before me the 1st day of January 1838 Taliaferro W.
