A. T. PHILLIPS 1839 Georgia Meriwether County This indenture made and entered into this first day of Jan. Eighteen hundred and thirty nine between Ransom Ray of the County and State aforesaid of the one part, and J. A. T. Phillips of the County and State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Ray for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred and sixty dollars to him in hand paid by the said J. A. T. Phillips as aforesaid has this day , bargained and sold and do by these presents bargain sell and convey unto him the said Phillips his heirs and assigns all that tract, lot or parcel of land, situate, lying, being, seventyfive [sic] acres of lot No. (141) One hundred and forty one in the Eleventh District of said County. Adjoining John Ray on the east of said Lot, designated by a line run and marked off by the County surveyor of said County between the said John & Ransom. Which bargained premises the said Ransom Ray do warrant and forever defend the right and title from myself my heirs and assigns and from the claim of all and every other person or persons whatsoever unto him the aforesaid Phillips his heirs and assigns. To have and to hold together with all and singular the rights members and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining thereunto to their own proper use benefit and behoof forever in fee simple. In testimony whereof I the aforesaid Ray have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal, the day and date above written. Ransom Ray His mark and seal Signed, sealed and delivered in presence of Test.
