D. Eighteen hundred and thirty eight Between Ransom Ray of the one part and Wayne Phillips of the other part; both of the County and State first above written. Witnesseth that I the sai Ray for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars, to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have this day bargained, sold, and conveyed, and do by these presents bargain, sell, and convey, unto the said W. Phillips fifty acres of land Known and distinguished by being on the west line of No. one hundred and forty one (141), joining to one hundred and forty, to extend the full width of said lot, in the Eleventh District formerly Troup now Meriwether County. The right of which land I warrant, and forever defend unto the said W. Phillips his heirs and assigns, from me, my heirs and assigns, and each and every other person whomsoever. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal, this the day and date first above written. Ransom Ray His mark and seal Signed, sealed, and delivered in presence of Witness Reuben Phillips James Thompson Georgia Meriwether County Personally appeared before me Willis Rowland an acting Justice of the Peace in and for said County. Reuben Phillips, after being duly sworn deposeth, saith, that he saw Ransom Ray sign, seal, and deliver the written deed, for the purposes therein mentioned, and that he (deponent) subscribed the same as a witness and saw James Thompson do so likewise.
