H. REED 1839 Georgia Meriwether County This indenture made and concluded on this the Eleventh day of Feb. Eighteen hundred and thirty nine between Ransom Ray of the one part, Jas. H. Reed of the other, both of the County and State above written. Witnesseth that the said Ransom Ray for and in consideration of the sum of five hundred dollars to him in hand paid at & before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted, bargained sol and conveyed unto Jas. H. Reed his heirs and assigns all that tract or Lot of Land Lying in the tenth District of Formerly Troup now Meriwether County Known and distinguished in said Dist. By lot number One containing two hundred two & half acres more or less. The eight of which said Land together with all the benefits and appurtenances hereunto in any wise belonging I do warrant and forever defend from myself, my heirs and assigns and from all other person or persons whatsoever unto the said Jas. H. Reed his heirs and assigns forever in fee simple. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this day and date first above written. Ransom Ray His mark and seal Signed, sealed and delivered in presence of us James F. Tousell [?] Jas. J. Keith Georgia Meriwether County Before me Willis Rowland an acting Justice of the Peace in the aforesaid County personally came James F. Tousell [?] who being duly sworn deposeth and saith that he saw Ransom Ray sign, seal and deliver the written deed for the use written specified and he himself subscribed as a witness and also saw James J.
