DEED OF RANSOM RAY TO ROBERT A JONES 1834

Meriwether County

This Indenture made the thirtieth day of December in the year of our Lord 
Eighteen Hundred and thirty four.  Between Ransom Ray of the one part of said 
County and State and Robert A. Jones of Clarke County and State aforesaid.  
Witnesseth that the said Ransom Ray foresaid in consideration of the sum of 
Seventeen Hundred Dollars to him in hand paid at and before the sealing and 
delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath 
granted bargained sold alined & conveyed and Confirmed and by these presents 
doth grant bargain sell aline convey and confirm with the said Robert A. Jones 
his heirs and assigns all that tract or parcel of land lying and being in the 
9th Ninth District of originally Troup now Meriwether County Known and 
distinguished on the plan of said District as Fractions No. 202 & 201. Fraction 
Two Hundred and two containing One Hundred and thirty nine and six tenths acres 
more of less and Fraction Two Hundred and One containing One Hundred and Ten 
acres more or less it being the North part of the said Fraction and lying on at 
[?] North side of Red Oak Creek and the Center of said [can’t read] to [can’t 
read] the line.  To have and to hold the said tracts or parcels of land with 
all and singular the rights members and appurtenances thereof whatsoever to the 
said tracts or parcels of lands being belonging or in any wise appertaining 
with the [can’t read next three words] and [can’t read] rents [can’t read] and 
profits thereof to his only proper use  benefit and behoof of him the said 
Robert A. Jones his heirs executors administrators and assigns in fee simple.  
And the said Ransom Ray his heirs executors administrators the said bargained 
parcels of land to said Robert A. Jones his heirs executors Administrators and 
assigns in fee simple, And the said Ransom Ray his heirs executors 
Administrators and assigns the said bargained premises unto the said Robert A. 
Jones his heirs executors Administrators and assigns against the said Ransom 
Ray his heirs executors Administrators and all and every other person or 
persons Shall & Will [can’t read] [can’t read] of these presents [can’t read[ 
[can’t read] witness.

In witness whereof the said Ransom Ray hath hereunto set his hand and seal 
affixed his seal the day and Year first above written.
