Adams, Clk. *Spelling was left as it appeared in the original document, as far as it could be read and transcribed Additional Comments: Richard Sloan was the husband of Rosannah Boyd (daughter of Robert Boyd and Rosannah Stewart) and came from Newberry County, South Carolina to Meriwether County, Georgia with the Boyd family in the early 1830s. Richard’s name has been seen spelled both as “Sloan” and “Slone.” Even his children used both spellings. His father-in-law, Robert Boyd, owned Land Lot No. 269, just north of Richard’s land. Present-day Sullivan Mill Road now divides the two lots. Deeds in the office of the Superior Court Judge of Meriwether County also show Richard purchased Land Lot No. 279 (adjacent to and just east of No. 268). No record has been found of the disposition of this lot File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ga/meriwether/deeds/sloan396dd.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.poppet.org/gafiles/ File size: 3.5 Kb
