This indenture made this the seventeenth day of December one thousand eight [the
word hundred omitted]& twenty nine and in the fifty fourth year of American
Independence between Levi M. Standford of the one part and Henry G. Orrick of
the other part both of the state of Georgia and county of Meriwether witnesseth;
that the said Levi M. Standford for and in consideration of the sum of one
hundred and forty dollars to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby
acknowledged hath bargained sold and confirmed and by these presents doth
bargain sell and confirm unto the said Henry G. Orrick all that tract or lot of
land lying and being in the county of Merriwether [sic] and state aforesaid
containing one hundreed and seventy seven acres be the same more or less,
granted to Major Hush and is known and distinguished as follows drawn [by?]
Major Hush of district Appling County situated in the ninth district in the
county of Merriwether and known by lot. No. two hundred and twenty eight and
bounded as follows lot 227 lot 271 lot 270 lot 269 having such shape and marks
as the platt represents together with all and singular the premises and
appurtenances whatsoever hereunto belonging to have and to hold the said granted
lands and premises and all and singular the rights privileges and appurtenance
thereunto belonging unto the said Henry G. Orrick his heirs and assigns forever
and the said Levi M. Standford his heirs and assigns the said lot of land and
premises aforesaid unto the said Henry G. Orrick his heirs and assigns and
against him the said Levi M. Standford his heirs and assigns and all and every
person or persons whatsoever shall and will forever warrant and defend by these
presents In witness whereof the said Levi M. Standford hath hereunto set his
hand and seal, day and year first above written.

Georgia, Meriwether County} Personally came before William Plant who being duly
sworn deposeth and saith that he was a subscribing witness to the above Deed and
saw John Tidwell subscribe the same as a witness and that he also saw Levi M.
Standford sign seal & deliver the above deed for the purposes therein contained.
