Wheless of the one part and Ellison Groce of the other part both of the County and state above written. Whenceforth that the said Marlin D. Wheless for and in consideration of the sum of six hundred and forty-eight dollars to him in hand paid on or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is duly acknowledged hath granted bargained and conveyed all that tract or parcel of land lying in the ninth District of originally Troup now Meriwether County known by the south part of lot No. (68), sixty-eight containing one hundred and twenty-six acres more or less with the reserve of four acres to Carter Dixon McG___y & _______[the name is probably Waddell] on the west side of the lot and ten acres of Ed Carter’s lot adjoining it in the southeast corner. To have and to hold to his own proper benefit & behoof forever in fee simple. And the said Marlin D. Wheless for himself doth forever warrant and defend the right and title from himself, and all his claimants whatever.
