Mr. James Spivey, a citizen of Meriwether County, while attending court in 
Greenville last week was unable to get a room at the hotel, so he sought 
accommodation in one of the second story rooms in the courthouse.  Forgetting 
where he was he awoke during the night and walked out the window.  He struck on 
the stone steps below, and was picked up insensible.  One of his legs was 
broken and badly mangled, and his head was cut in several places.  It is also 
thought that he received internal injuries and his physicians are doubtful of 
his recovery.
