J., died last Saturday, the 3rd of December, at his residence near Warm Springs in his 81st year; he came to Meriwether in 1827 and was at the first election ever held in the county, before ther was a courthouse; for a long time he served as a magistrate in the second district and was a member of the Baptist church at Mount Hope.
