Died on the 30th ult of consumption, Mrs. Louisa [sic] Loftin, aged 70 years, the wife of Mr. James Loftin of Meriwether County, Ga. The subject of this notice was born in Lanier County, N. C. and moved to Wilkinson County, of this State at its early settlement, where she joined the Baptist church, was Baptisted by the Rev. Jesse Pierce, about 42 years ago, from which time she lived a moral pious, upright and religious life, has ever been an affectionate wife, and a lovely and kind mother. During her last illness with the diseae, under which she has been laboring for the last ten years, she would often express a strong confidence in her saviour, and resignation to the will of God. She died insensible of the pain of death, and almost without a struggle, and has gone home to heaven, where the wicked cease to trouble, and the weary are at rest. She has left an aged husband, four sons, and numerous relatives and friends to mourn their bereavement, but their loss is her gain. W.
