Stricken down on the 10th of May, the violent fever did not kill her at once, but so completely wrecked her constitution that she could never rally again. How bravely she tried! How patiently she suffered! For three long months, all that human hands could do for her, her devoted family and friends willingly did, but God had spoken, and she had heard, so as calmly as a little child on its mother’s bosom, she Laid her head on Jesus’ breast, And breathed her life out sweetly there. No more agony of suffering, no more anxious watches through the dark and solemn night – peace is hers at last – “Sweet peace, the gift of God’s love.” Ours is the pain when we remember the vacant place in our town and in the newly completed home, graced by her bright presence for so brief a time. We realize however, that our loss is her eternal gain, and bow in submission to God’s will. Ola was an exceptionally bright and original girl, and her frank manner and cheerful disposition won many friends wherever she was known, particularly in Atlanta, where she spent the greater part of the past three years. We extend our heart-felt sympathy to the bereaved father, mother, brothers and sisters, and our sincere prayer is, That you may in Christ united be, And reach, at last, the crystal sea.
