From the Woodbury Messenger of the 6th

On Thursday evening about 8 o’clock, Mr. J.J. Alford breathed his last and his 
spirit took its flight to another world. He was 71 years of age. He was buried 
Friday evening at the family burying ground by the Masons.

On Saturday Mr. J.F Alford, a brother of J.J. Alford died at the age of 74. His 
remains were interred in the family burying ground on Sunday with Masonic 
honors. He was an enterprising citizen and successful farmer.
